About Angela
Background, Education and Credentials
Angela is a graduate of The University of Oklahoma with a Master's Degree in Social Work. Her undergraduate degree is in psychology from The University of Tulsa. In 2000 she became licensed in Social Work with a clinical specialty (Licensed Clinical Social Worker- LCSW). She began working in the mental health field in 1992, giving her a total of 30 years experience helping individuals with mental health issues.
Angela's therapeutic approach consists of the use of evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Written Exposure Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Client-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy/
She has over 700 hours of Continuing Education post-graduate school.

Angela is trained and experienced in treating Anxiety, PTSD, Depression, Bipolar Disorders and most other mental health related issues. In addition to general mental health issues, she has several areas of particular interest and passion including, conscious parenting, helping adults on their journey to becoming who they truly are and working with the LGBTQ+ population including gender expansive, gender non-conforming, transgender, non-binary, and gender diverse individuals.
Angela completed 40 hours of training in Transgender Care, making her a Certified Transgender Care Therapist. Having this certification makes her qualified to write letters for the recommendation of physical interventions including hormone replacement therapy, and surgical procedures. Certification was obtained through the International Transgender Certification Association. She adheres to WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) version 8 Standards of Care.

Insurance and Rates
Angela is currently accepting new clients and is currently credentialed with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Health Choice, Health Smart, Optum, United Health Care , and UMR . She is also accepting self-pay clients. Rates for self-pay are of average industry standard and start at $120 per hour.
